Overview

Plastic surgery is a branch of medical sciences well known as the “problem solving” speciality of medical sciences. It consists of surgeries involving various anatomical body parts from head to toe.

It consists of Microvascular Surgery Cosmetic Surgery, Reconstructive surgery- Including a) Trauma Reconstruction and b) cancer Reconstruction Congenital (Birth) defects Burns surgery Hand Surgery Cleft and Cranio-Facial surgery

We are committed to provide a comprehensive, evidence based, advanced state of art health services to the people , with various types of Burns, plastic and reconstructive cosmetic surgeries. Our department aims to train post graduates and Super-speciality training and provide Clinical research which helps in the continuous evolution of therapeutic services, surgical techniques and ensures improved patient care.

Reconstructive surgery- Scope Include :

Post Trauma and post burn reconstructive surgeries along with post cancer reconstructive surgeries and congenital reconstructive surgeries. Microvascular surgeries like AV- fistula , vascular injuries and its repairs, replantation of digits/fingers , thumb and hand. Microvascular free flaps for reconstruction of post traumatic lower limb , upper limb, scalp and face defects also in reconstruction of Post cancer excision defects . Huge lymphoedema of lower limbs surgeries. We are Managing necrotising fasciitis , varicose veins ulcer, diabetic foot defects ,with help of physicians , intensivists and general surgery departments. Congenital deformities like Hypospadias, Cleft lip and palate, Hemangiomas , Anomalies of hand and foot , facial and ear anomalies. Plastic surgery works with ENT surgeons, Orthopedic surgeons , General surgeons, Trauma and emergency surgeons, Gynecologists and Oncosurgeons.

Cosmetic surgeries-Scope Include

• The Department will organize CMEs, and conferences not only for junior doctors and surgeons in adjoining areas, but also for training of nursing and General Practitioners.

• Hand Surgery Tendon and Peripheral Nerve reconstruction, , Tendon transfers, Congenital deformities

• Aesthetic Surgery Rhinoplasty, Scar-revision Facial rejuvenation (Face lift/ Botox), Blepharoplasty, Abdominoplasty, Breast augmentation and reduction, Liposuction

• Sex reassignment surgeries Gender reassignment surgery for psychologically suitable patient. Microvascular Surgery Free tissue transfers (Free flaps) Digit, limb and scalp replantation Maxillofacial Surgery Facial bone fractures, Genioplasties, Malar augmentation, Bone grafting.

• Surgery for Congenital deformities Syndactyly Macrodactly Polydactyly Hemifacial microsomia, Cleft lip and Palate, Hypospadias
