A highly skilled, experienced and dedicated team of cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and cardiac anesthetists work on some of the most complex cardiac procedures, both on adults and children. They are aptly supported by the state-of-the-art Coronary Care and post-surgical critical care Unit, which also has a nursing and paramedical team to handle any type of cardiac emergency round the clock.
The follow-up of the patient is completed by the Cardiac Rehabilitation physiotherapy team, which is one of the first in the country. The department boasts of two Cath-labs, of which one has 3D integration with image reconstruction support for advanced procedures like TAVI. An average of around 20 cardiac procedures is performed at this unit every day.
The Ramaiah Institute of Cardiac Sciences (RICS) performs various invasive procedures, and success rates are at par with global standards. Two state-of-the-art Digital Cath Labs that are well supported by well-equipped Critical Care Units, while a team of doctors take care of post- procedure patients. All modern facilities, such as Artificial Ventilator, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Bedside Central Monitoring, are available to ensure comprehensive cardiac care.
It is one of the few centres in the country offering the entire spectrum of complex percutaneous intervention, ranging from Rotablation to intravascular lithotripsy with coronary imaging guidance, including IVUS and OCT.
