The Department of Anesthesiology has been at the forefront of providing quality and evidence-based care since its inception in 1985. The department has to its credit many firsts in the history of anaesthesia services in the state. The department is credited with starting an exclusive Critical Care Facility with 8 ventilator beds in 1996, which, over the years, has branched out into a standalone department with over 100 beds.
The department was among the first to start a round-the-clock Labour Analgesia programme in 1998, which has now progressed to a full-fledged and much-in-demand service. We were also the first to start a dedicated Pain Services Clinic catering to all aspects of Acute and Chronic pain management with the advanced facilities for Interventional and Non-Interventional treatment options.
Our team comprises an enthusiastic group of highly competent, exceptionally skilled and compassionate perioperative physicians, whose prime focus is on achieving high standards of care in the perioperative period. Equipped with state-of-the-art operating rooms and a highly advanced anaesthesia armamentarium, we attempt to make your surgical stay comfortable and pain-free.
