Dr. Sanjay C Desai

Dr. Sanjay C Desai is the Head of Department and Consultant in the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Ramaiah Memorial Hospital, Bangalore. He is one of the pioneers of Vascular Surgery in India and is amongst the first few trained vascular surgeons in the country. He did his MBBS and MS (General Surgery) from M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore, India and went on to do his Fellowships in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (FEVS) from his alma mater followed by Germany, Singapore and USA. He started the first Mch Superspeciality training course in Vascular Surgery in the state of Karnataka in 2011 at Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore and believes in constantly training himself to be up to date with the latest advances in the field. In this regard, he has been active in the field of research and publication and was a celebrated Associate editor of the Indian Journal of vascular surgery. He is currently also the Director of the Ramaiah Advanced Learning Centre, Bangalore and an active member of various national and international societies with a strong academic interest. Dr. Desai is one of the most sought after Vascular Surgeons in Karnataka and is known to be his patients’ favourite doctor. He has been instrumental in saving limbs and lives for over two decades and is a firm believer of helping his patients as the age-old dictum goes primum non nocere, that is, to do no harm first and believes in the philosophy of Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah.
