About Dr. Virupakshi Jalihal

Dr. Virupakshi Jalihal is a senior psychiatrist with over 25 years of clinical, academic, and international experience in mental health care. Trained extensively in India and the United Kingdom, he is registered with both the Karnataka Medical Council (KMC) and the UK General Medical Council (GMC).

He is currently serving as Associate Professor of Psychiatry at M S Ramaiah Medical College and Hospitals, Bengaluru, where he is actively involved in patient care, teaching, and research

Experience

Dr. Jalihal has worked across diverse psychiatric settings, including tertiary teaching hospitals and NHS trusts in the UK.

He spent nearly 9 years in the UK, completing specialist training under the prestigious Maudsley Scheme (London Deanery) and serving as a Consultant Psychiatrist before returning to India in 2011.

Since then, he has been associated with M S Ramaiah Medical College, progressing from Senior Resident to Assistant Professor and now Associate Professor.
