Our Department of Ophthalmology has a strong and successful legacy of providing comprehensive, high-quality eye care services to patients across Bangalore and surrounding regions. The department has consistently been recognized among the top five eye care services in Bangalore by the The Times of India for the past five consecutive years, reflecting our commitment to excellence in patient care, academics, and innovation.

We cater to approximately 100–200 patients daily through two well- equipped ophthalmic units and provide specialized ophthalmic services through dedicated subspecialty clinics conducted five days a week. These include Cornea and Ocular Surface Clinic, Retina Clinic, Glaucoma Clinic, Squint and Pediatric Ophthalmology Clinic, Oculoplasty and Lacrimal Services, and Comprehensive Cataract Services.

One of the major strengths of our department is the availability of experienced faculty trained in all major subspecialties of ophthalmology, enabling us to manage a wide spectrum of simple, complex, and tertiary-level ophthalmic conditions under one roof. Our multidisciplinary expertise allows us to deliver advanced evidence- based care across cornea, cataract, glaucoma, retina, pediatric ophthalmology, ocular trauma, uveitis, neuro-ophthalmology, and oculoplasty.

The department is actively involved in community ophthalmology initiatives and conducts regular outreach screening camps under the District Blindness Control Society (DBCS), in addition to school eye health screening programs aimed at early detection and prevention of visual impairment.

We also take pride in our robust postgraduate residency training program, which emphasizes meticulous clinical and surgical training, academic excellence, and research orientation. The department maintains a well-stocked library with access to reputed national and international ophthalmology journals, supporting continuous learning and research activities.

Our operation theatres are equipped with modern phacoemulsification systems, advanced operating microscopes, lasers, and contemporary ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, enabling us to perform a broad range of ophthalmic surgeries with high precision and excellent outcomes.
