Dr. K M Suryanarayana

Dr. K M Suryanarayana is holding the appointment of Honorary Professor and has over 30 years of experience in the field of Endocrinology. After graduating from Mysore Medical College in 1974, he was commissioned in Armed Forces and got MD in Medicine from prestigious AFMC Pune with gold medal and DM Endocrinology from PGIMER, Chandigarh. He has served as Prof & HOD of Medicine & Endocrinology at Command Hospital (Air Force), Bangalore and Army Hospital (R&R), New Delhi as Prof & HOD of Endocrinology at MS Ramaiah Medical College. He has keen interest in academics and research and has been a guide and University Examiner for many MD and DM students, during long tenure as a teacher and completed many AFMRC and ICMR projects. He has many publications including chapters in text- books. While at New Delhi he had the privilege to be “Physician to His Excellency the President of India” during 2003-2005. Having an illustrious service spanning 37 years in Army Medical Corps, he retired as Director General Medical Services (NAVY) in the rank of Vice Admiral. He organized a national level Endocrinology Update in 2003 and was also Patron and Chief Advisor of Endocrine Society of India Annual Conference in 2011. He has been honored to deliver PN SHAW MEMORIAL ORATION of the Endocrine Society of India in 2015 and K S SHADAKSHARAPPA ORATION of the Karnataka API Chapter in 2016 and Conferred “Life- time achievement award” for “Contribution in the field of Endocrinology” by Karnataka Endocrine Society in 2019 and currently serving as President Karnataka Endocrine Society. He Has been decorated with Presidential Award – Vishist Seva Medal in 2005. He is a life-time member of many reputed societies like API, Endocrine Society of India (ESI), RSSDI, Thyroid Society of India, ISBMR, Bombay Medical Congress and Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine He is very passionate and dedicated to deliver comprehensive quality patient care with a humane approach.
