Dr. Chitra S

Dr Chitra Selvan is an associate professor of endocrinology at Ramaiah medical College Bangalore. She completed her MBBS from Bangalore medical College and MD medicine from Madras medical College and completed her DM in Endocrinology at IPGMER Kolkata. She also holds the MRCP(UK) Endocrinology speciality Certificate Examination certificate. Dr Chitra is passionate about Endocrinology, womenshealth, doctor- patient relationship and communication in medicine. She is the recipient of AV Gandhi award for excellence in endocrinology 2015 and the The RSSDI Young investigator award 2017.She recently was awarded membership in the National Academy of medical sciences.She recently published an important document called Language Matters-type two diabetes India which talks about implicit bias in the words and actions of healthcare professionals which could potentially hurt patients.
