CT Scan (64 & 128 Slice)

CT Scan (64 & 128 Slice)

Overview

Computed Tomography (CT) Scan using 64-slice and 128-slice technology is an advanced imaging modality that provides highly detailed cross-sectional images of the body. These multi-slice CT scanners enable rapid image acquisition with excellent spatial resolution, allowing accurate evaluation of organs, blood vessels, bones, and soft tissues. The speed and precision of 64 and 128-slice CT systems make them especially valuable in emergency, cardiac, neurological, and trauma care.

CT scans are widely used for diagnosing a variety of medical conditions, including head injuries, stroke, tumours, infections, lung diseases, abdominal disorders, spinal conditions, and complex fractures. Advanced multi-slice CT technology allows for thinner image slices, faster scanning times, and reduced motion artefacts, resulting in clearer images and improved diagnostic accuracy. This is particularly beneficial for pediatric, elderly, and critically ill patients who may have difficulty remaining still. In cardiac imaging, 64 and 128-slice CT scanners are used for coronary artery evaluation, calcium scoring, and cardiac structural assessment. The high temporal resolution helps in visualising rapidly moving structures such as the heart and blood vessels. Contrast-enhanced CT studies further assist in evaluating tumours, vascular abnormalities, and organ perfusion.

The CT scan procedure is quick and usually completed within a few minutes. Depending on the clinical requirement, contrast material may be administered orally or intravenously to enhance image clarity. All scans are performed by trained technologists under strict radiation safety protocols to ensure minimal exposure while maintaining diagnostic quality.

CT scan services work closely with emergency medicine, oncology, neurology, cardiology, and surgical departments to support timely diagnosis and treatment planning. With advanced technology, expert interpretation by radiologists, and patient-focused care, 64 and 128-slice CT scanning plays a crucial role in modern medical diagnostics.
