The Department of Cardiac Anesthesiology is Part of Ramaiah Institute of Cardiac Sciences and it provides specialized, comprehensive anesthesia and critical care services for patients undergoing complex cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgical procedures. Our experienced team of cardiac anesthesiologists works closely with cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, intensivists and other specialists to ensure safe, precise and personalized perioperative care.
The department has expertise in managing a wide range of procedures, including adult cardiac and thoracic surgeries, minimally invasive and high-risk cardiac interventions, aortic and major vascular procedures, Transcatheter aortic valve implantation/replacement (TAVI/TAVR) and complex surgical cases requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring , echocardiographic techniques, including intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE )and specialized anesthetic techniques.
We also provide dedicated anesthesia and perioperative care for pediatrics cardiac surgeries, with a focus on the unique physiological and clinical needs of infants and children. Our team is experienced in managing complex congenital heart conditions and ensuring safe anesthesia throughout the surgical journey.
The department also supports cardiac transplantation, providing specialized anesthetic management and critical care before, during and after transplantation. In addition, our expertise in Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) ,enables advanced life support for critically ill patients with severe cardiac or respiratory failure.
